Senior Field Services Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Identify intricate issues related to customers and/or machinery, analyze relevant information to formulate and assess options, and execute effective, strategic resolutions.

• Evaluate and analyze conversion and retrofit requirements.

• Offer technical assistance and training to Signode technicians.

• Read and interpret complex technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics as necessary for installation, commissioning, training, repairs, conversions, and retrofits of client equipment.

• Independently arrange service calls, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems.

• Disassemble units and replace faulty components.

• Make adjustments and verify proper functionality on most assigned equipment.

• Coordinate proactive pre-installation meetings with customers to discuss installation processes and responsibilities of both the company and the client.

• Inspect locations for product compatibility and install, adjust, and test equipment accordingly.

• Proactively report and follow up on potentially unsafe conditions while recommending effective solutions.

• Maintain strong customer relationships by clearly explaining product failures, the nature of the issues, and suggested corrective measures.

• Communicate crucial information promptly to key stakeholders, including customers, management, and engineering teams.

• Troubleshoot and repair advanced-level PLC problems.

• Design and implement training programs for repairs and/or preventive maintenance.

• Prepare detailed technical surveys regarding redesign leads.

• Collaborate with the inventory manager to assist in maintaining appropriate stock levels and specific parts.

• Identify opportunities for conversions and retrofits and inform relevant parties to support quotation proposals.

• Advise clients on the necessity of maintaining a spare parts inventory to ensure the continuity of their operations.

• Ensure operational excellence through effective reporting and administrative tasks for reliability service technicians.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Electrical, or Automation).

• 8 years of relevant or transferable experience.

• Experience in equipment or machine maintenance.

• Advanced proficiency in English.

• Knowledge in electrical, mechanical, PLC, and HMI systems.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

• Vocational training in electrical, mechanical, or automation fields - SENAI or similar institutions.
