Senior Field Service Engineer – Life Sciences, Flow Cytometry, Centrifugation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Provide support for a substantial and established base of laboratory instruments throughout Gauteng.

• Allocate approximately 60% of efforts to Flow Cytometry analysers and 40% to Centrifugation systems.

• Ensure instrument availability, system dependability, customer trust, and seamless laboratory operations.

• Install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot Flow Cytometry analysers along with Centrifugation platforms.

• Conduct preventative maintenance, calibrations, software and hardware upgrades, system validations, and technical assessments.

• Identify and resolve intricate issues related to optics, fluidics, electronics, mechanics, and software.

• Serve as a reliable technical partner to customers and internal stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a similar technical field.

• A minimum of 3–5+ years of experience in servicing laboratory, diagnostic, biomedical, or medical instrumentation.

• Strong hands-on expertise with Flow Cytometry analysers is a must.

• Experience with centrifugation systems is highly beneficial.

• Background in regulated IVD, clinical laboratory, hospital, research, or life sciences environments is preferred.

• Solid understanding of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, validation, and customer-facing technical services.

• Valid driver's license.

• Readiness to travel throughout Gauteng and regionally within Southern and Sub-Saharan Africa.
