This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Oversee field property claims independently, including those necessitating external field investigations and catastrophe (CAT) responses.
• Conduct comprehensive investigations, evaluate coverage, and generate necessary documentation such as reservation of rights and coverage letters.
• Recognize and actively seek opportunities to transfer risk to suitable entities for the advantage of insureds and business partners.
• Keep thorough and meticulous claim records, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to jurisdictional regulations.
• Explore and manage suspicious claims using advanced methodologies and tools; refer to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) when appropriate.
• Employ advanced tools and analytics to discern trends, rectify inconsistencies, and enhance the efficiency of claims handling.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in claims management.
• Generally requires 5–10 years of experience in adjusting claims.
• Strong familiarity with local geography, regulations, and public safety agencies.
• In-depth understanding of relevant statutes, regulations, case law, and concepts of third-party legal liability.
• Proficient in negotiation and formulating strategies to influence outcomes.
• Exhibits sound judgment and decision-making skills, particularly regarding litigation and compliance issues.
• Experienced in using claims systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Required to possess and uphold relevant state adjuster licenses, continuing education credits, and a valid driver’s license.
