Senior Engineer, Security Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Support Twilio's Information Security Team in enhancing and automating essential security workflows.

• Engage in all stages of the software development life cycle, which includes requirements gathering, technical design, coding, testing, and on-call support.

• Take ownership of, operate, and maintain automated workflows that support various security initiatives, such as cloud security, product security, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), and enterprise security.

• Create AI-driven security solutions that build workflows integrating both structured and unstructured data sources for enhanced decision-making and risk mitigation.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to pinpoint security requirements and deliver sophisticated AI-enabled solutions.

• Ensure the operational health of automation and AI-driven systems by maintaining reliability and performance standards.

• Provide support for on-call operations related to tools, pipelines, and AI models.

• Clearly and effectively document processes and developments.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least five (5) years of experience as a software engineer focused on developing internal tools and automating workflows at scale.

• Expertise in Python (or another scripting language) for the development, testing, and automation of security and infrastructure workflows.

• Practical experience in applying AI/ML models, including LLMs, to streamline complex business or security processes and create intelligent solutions.

• Strong understanding of software security principles, secure coding practices, and security automation techniques.

• Experience with data orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, Prefect) for managing and scaling automation pipelines.

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), CI/CD systems (BuildKite or similar), and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker).

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to quickly iterate based on feedback and work across security and engineering teams.
