
Senior Engineer – Power System Studies

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct and oversee intricate system studies, including protective device coordination and analyses such as short circuit, arc flash, load flow, ampacity, grounding, harmonic, and power quality.
• Spearhead the design of collection systems, encompassing cable routing and sizing.
• Develop equipment specifications while utilizing in-depth knowledge of renewable energy systems, including PV modules, inverters, BESS, transformers, cable management systems, and BOS.
• Evaluate complete project documentation for adherence to standards and quality assurance.
• Apply extensive and varied knowledge of engineering principles and practices independently.
• Assess, select, and modify procedures and criteria autonomously.
• Innovate new techniques and enhance processes, materials, or products.
• Facilitate client interactions across various projects and portfolios.
• Serve as the primary contact for a discipline or project team across multiple portfolios.
• Generate and manage reports and presentations that convey conducted studies, devised solutions, and delivered value.
• Prepare proposals for professional engineering services across various projects or portfolios.
• Review and finalize scopes, budgets, and timelines for assignments.
• Organize, schedule, and coordinate document preparation and project activities across several major projects.
• Mentor, train, and supervise assigned staff engineers.
• Lead all personnel necessary to complete assignments.
• Counsel upper-level management and staff as a technical expert.
• Collaborate on intricate or unconventional challenges, including developing new methodologies for assignments with conflicting criteria.
• Oversee projects within a portfolio or suite of projects.
• Execute essential responsibilities, including meeting deliverables and deadlines.
• Undertake additional tasks as required.
• Equivalent to: 1) U.S. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, or 2) Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field accompanied by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience.
• EIT Certificate.
• Required technical skills: Advanced proficiency in Python, ETAP, CDEGS, CYMCAP, PSS/E, and PSLF.
• Minimum of 2 years of electrical engineering experience with solar PV or energy storage systems, or over 5 years of relevant experience in conventional substations or power generation facilities.
• Equivalent combinations of renewable and conventional power experience may be taken into account.
• 2 years of experience working with various vendor-provided dynamic models.
• 2 years of experience using Python or similar programming languages for process automation.
