Senior Engineer – Nuclear Deterministic Safety Analysis

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee a range of projects encompassing technical evaluations and analyses related to Anticipated Operational Occurrences, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Reactor Heat Balance, and Thermal Hydraulic Fuel Channel Analyses.

• Conduct thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses for the plant, focusing on areas such as Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses.

• Provide deliverables consistently at a high and sustainable standard, adhering to customer specifications, business processes, and regulatory agency requirements.

• Generate detailed and precise technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations.

• Execute technical verification of engineering technical outputs.

• Prepare, communicate, and present intricate technical matters to both internal and external clients while proposing solutions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field).

• Minimum of 8 years of pertinent nuclear experience.

• This position necessitates access to U.S. export-controlled information.

• A Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Engineering; or Senior Reactor Operator Certification is preferred.

• Familiarity with BWR core simulation and thermal-hydraulic systems codes.

• Comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles of nuclear engineering, including nuclear physics, thermal hydraulics, and mechanical design as they pertain to BWR.

• Proficiency in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis methodologies.

• Experience in programming languages such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON.
