Senior Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Conduct feasibility studies for interconnection related to new generation, storage, demand, and transmission projects.

• Optimize the placement and size of new generation, storage, demand, and transmission initiatives.

• Develop interconnection applications for new generation, storage, demand, and transmission projects, including creating power flow, dynamic, and short circuit study models.

• Assist in guiding generation, storage, demand, and transmission interconnection applications throughout the complete interconnection study process.

• Engage with the host transmission operator during the interconnection study process and critically review their interconnection study reports.

• Execute general power system studies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Electrical Power Systems.

• Five years of experience in grid planning within North America.

• Two years of experience in a consulting role.

• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Electrical Power Systems is preferred.

• Deep understanding of PSSE and/or PSLF power systems analysis tools and their associated models.

• Familiarity with TARA power systems analysis tools and their related models and utilities.

• Knowledge of transmission systems in the Eastern Interconnection, ERCOT, and/or WECC.

• Extensive experience in conducting power system studies.

• Experience with resource interconnection studies in the Eastern Interconnection, ERCOT, or WECC.

• Experience in generation delivery assessment within RTO service territories, especially in CAISO, using TARA is highly valued.

• A Professional Engineering License is a bonus.
