Senior Editor, Leadership and AI Innovation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Edutopia is in search of a talented and seasoned editor to develop its new school leadership and AI Innovation segments.

• You will be responsible for pitching and crafting features that provide educators with actionable insights and ignite meaningful discussions.

• You will influence editorial strategy, cultivate connections with key figures in leadership, education, and AI, and cover a wide range of topics from classroom technology and leadership to learning science, motivation, student growth, and the future of education.

• This is a full-time remote position with benefits, funded for two years with the potential for extension.

⛳️ Requirements

• More than 7 years of journalism/reporting experience, with a focus on feature writing, editing, and assigning.

• Strong ability to recognize trends and transform them into engaging and sharp story angles.

• Established track record in developing sources, expanding beats, and crafting incisive editorial lineups.

• Experience in fast-paced, deadline-oriented digital media settings.

• A genuine passion for enhancing preK-12 education and a curiosity about the impact of leadership and AI on this field.

• Capacity to collaborate effectively across editorial, social media, video, and community teams.

• Background in multimedia and multichannel writing, editing, and/or producing (including platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, etc.).

• Ability to represent the organization at in-person conferences and virtual events, including moderating panels.

• Familiarity with foundational AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and others.

• Experience in managing junior staff members is a significant advantage.

• Experience in contributing to or leading podcasts is also a considerable benefit.
