Senior Director, Data Platforms

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, and refinement of data pipelines and ETL processes for both structured and unstructured data throughout the organization.

• Define and uphold technical data architecture standards, including integration patterns, platform consolidation, and alignment with emerging technologies such as cloud, SaaS, and big data.

• Establish and implement the technical components of data governance frameworks, focusing on data quality, metadata management, stewardship, and regulatory compliance.

• Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations.

• Build and mentor high-performing teams across engineering, architecture, and governance disciplines.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure data platform initiatives align with strategic goals.

• Develop and enhance shared data models based on industry best practices for utilization by stakeholders across the organization.

• Direct strategic data platform projects to improve business insights, enhance operational efficiency, and establish robust data infrastructure and reporting capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in data management roles, including a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership positions.

• Proficiency in modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and data architecture frameworks.

• Practical experience with SQL, data modeling, ETL tools (e.g., Fivetran), and Python.

• Strong understanding of data governance principles and regulatory compliance.

• Ability to articulate complex data concepts to senior leaders and stakeholders effectively.

• Excellent time management skills with the capability to juggle competing priorities.

• A strong commitment to excellence and a high degree of integrity.
