This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take charge of the production environment, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of system health, availability, and performance.
• Design, construct, and sustain infrastructure and platform systems utilizing automation-first methodologies.
• Proactively develop monitoring and observability strategies (e.g., Sumo Logic, New Relic, Prometheus) to avert issues before they arise.
• Implement AI tools (Claude, Cursor) to enhance infrastructure operations, focusing on debugging, monitoring, and performance optimization at the system level.
• Assess, analyze, and refine system performance to continually enhance uptime and user experience.
• Deliver operational support for extensive, distributed systems, including involvement in on-call duties and incident response.
• Investigate and resolve intricate production issues, while mentoring others in debugging and troubleshooting techniques.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to boost reliability through testing, release processes, and system architecture.
• Contribute to and shape system architecture, ensuring scalability, resilience, and long-term sustainability.
• Engage in capacity planning, platform management, and infrastructure roadmap discussions.
• Propel automation and continuous enhancement across infrastructure and deployment workflows.
• Balance speed and reliability by establishing clear service level objectives (SLOs).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Over 7 years of experience in software development, IT, or similar roles.
• More than 4 years in DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering positions.
• Strong expertise with AWS (Solutions Architect certification is advantageous).
• Practical experience with:
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to balance urgency and careful execution.
• Capability to work collaboratively across teams and time zones.
• Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Claude).
