This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead DataOps initiatives from initial concept through to deployment, ensuring timely and successful outcomes.
• Utilize automation tools and scripts to enhance data workflows and minimize manual processes.
• Set up monitoring and alerting systems to oversee the health and performance of data pipelines and storage systems, swiftly addressing any issues that may arise.
• Ensure that strong security measures for data pipelines and storage systems are established, and that data management practices adhere to applicable regulations.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery strategies and redundancy protocols, guaranteeing data integrity and availability during failures.
• Execute data migrations from current databases to our Cloud environment, ensuring smooth transitions and data integrity.
• Proven experience in establishing and upholding standards, while enforcing those standards to create efficient, high-performing data pipelines and storage systems, all while managing overall costs.
• Keep updated with the latest technological advancements and engage in strategic decisions that influence the Information Technology function's trajectory.
• Contribute to Guild’s data transformation by supporting innovative working methods and generating insights.
• Collaborate closely with development, operations, and other teams to cultivate a culture of reliability and provide input on system design and architecture for enhanced reliability.
• Bachelor's Degree closely related to the position or equivalent experience is preferred.
• A blend of education and experience may be considered in place of a Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
• Strong grasp of data quality principles and practices.
• Extensive knowledge of Cloud storage services within AWS and Azure.
• Acquainted with data security and privacy best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance standards.
• Experience in implementing disaster recovery strategies.
• Expertise in performance monitoring, optimization, tuning, and management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; capable of thriving in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based applications, and third-party software programs.
