Senior Database Developer, Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Development and enhancement of database solutions, focusing on Sybase and PostgreSQL.

• Management of database systems operating on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Red Hat.

• Creation and execution of new database architectures to meet contemporary business needs.

• Development and upkeep of database APIs to facilitate smooth interaction between applications and databases.

• Performance optimization and monitoring of existing databases to guarantee availability and stability.

• Execution of database migrations and upgrades, including planning and implementation.

• Collaboration with software developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to create integrated solutions.

• Documentation and establishment of best practices for database processes.

• Troubleshooting and resolving database challenges as part of support operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a similar qualification.

• Several years of professional experience in database development and administration, preferably with Sybase and PostgreSQL.

• Proficient in working with Linux-based operating systems.

• Ideally, experience in administering Linux-based systems (SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Red Hat).

• Experience in designing and implementing database architectures and developing database APIs.

• Strong understanding of SQL and data modeling.

• Knowledge of backup strategies, replication, and high-availability solutions.

• Analytical mindset, problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to quality.

• Interest in working within an agile team in the resilient healthcare sector.

• Excellent communication skills, with a meticulous approach and high-quality standards.

• Proficient in German and English, with strong communication capabilities.
