Senior Database Developer / Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Creating and enhancing database solutions with a primary focus on Sybase and PostgreSQL.

• Managing database systems on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Red Hat.

• Designing and implementing new database architectures to meet contemporary business needs.

• Developing and maintaining database APIs to facilitate seamless interaction between applications and databases.

• Tuning performance and monitoring existing databases to ensure their availability and stability.

• Handling database migrations and upgrades, including both planning and execution.

• Collaborating with software developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to create integrated solutions.

• Documenting and establishing best practices for database processes.

• Assisting in troubleshooting and resolving database issues as part of the support function.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a similar qualification.

• Multiple years of professional experience in database development and administration, preferably with Sybase and PostgreSQL.

• Proficient in working with Linux-based operating systems.

• Ideally, experience in administering Linux-based systems (SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Red Hat).

• Experience in designing and implementing database architectures and developing database APIs.

• Strong understanding of SQL and data modeling.

• Familiarity with backup strategies, replication, and high-availability solutions.

• Analytical mindset, robust problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to quality.

• Interest in working within an agile team in the resilient healthcare sector.

• Excellent communication skills, with a precise working style and high quality standards.

• Proficient in both German and English.
