Senior Data Scientist – Energy, Oil & Gas

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

📋 Description

• A senior individual contributor responsible for overseeing the entire data science process: determining what metrics to evaluate, acquiring data, constructing models, and justifying the findings.

• Collaborate closely with traders, deal economists, finance, and treasury teams.

• Conduct P&L reconstruction and margin attribution throughout the deal lifecycle.

• Perform anomaly and fraud detection on financial datasets.

• Develop the reporting layer for finance and risk, including margin, cost per tonne, exposure, receivables, and cash position.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in data science, with a senior role overseeing your own workstreams.

• Experience in the oil and gas sector — a minimum of two years successfully delivering projects in trading, refining, logistics, storage, or distribution.

• Proficient in Python and SQL, with the capability to work with raw data: navigating unfamiliar schemas, undocumented tables, and exports not intended for analysis.

• Proven experience in deploying models to production and managing them; this is nearly essential for our needs.

• Professional proficiency in Russian.
