Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and implement sophisticated fraud detection models utilizing machine learning and statistical methods to identify and mitigate fraudulent activities across our platform.

• Work in partnership with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and operations, to design and establish fraud detection systems and procedures.

• Examine extensive data sets to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies that indicate fraudulent behavior, and develop insights based on data to enhance fraud prevention strategies.

• Assess the effectiveness of current fraud detection models and systems, continuously optimizing and updating them to respond to evolving fraud trends and tactics.

• Keep abreast of the latest developments and advancements in fraud detection, data science, and machine learning, applying this knowledge to improve our fraud prevention capabilities.

• Convey complex data analysis and model performance outcomes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations in all aspects of fraud detection and data analysis.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related discipline, with a focus on fraud prevention and/or anti-money laundering.

• Proficient in Python.

• Familiarity with cloud development (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) and MLOps is advantageous.

• In-depth understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques, particularly their application in fraud detection.

• Experience managing large datasets using distributed systems like Apache Spark and Dask, addressing data-related challenges such as data cleaning, data quality, and data transformation and feature engineering at scale.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of deriving actionable insights from complex data.

• Strong communication skills, with the capacity to articulate complex concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
