This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Oversee and direct data science initiatives focused on healthcare, from initial concept to final deployment.
• Design and execute sophisticated machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI models tailored to healthcare challenges.
• Employ Python to create, evaluate, and implement data science solutions.
• Leverage the GCP software stack for managing and analyzing extensive healthcare datasets.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including clinical specialists, to infuse data-driven insights into healthcare practices.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior data scientists.
• Keep abreast of developments in data science, machine learning, generative AI, and healthcare analytics.
• Deliver presentations on findings and recommendations to healthcare professionals and executive leadership.
• Ensure adherence to data science and AI best practices across the team.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• 4–8 years of experience in data science or a closely related field, with a focus on applications in healthcare.
• Preferred experience within a healthcare environment.
• Proficient in machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI.
• Strong command of Python and its associated libraries, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
• Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly Vertex AI, BigQuery, AI Platform, and Dataflow.
• Solid understanding of healthcare data sources, healthcare informatics, and clinical data standards.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities for intricate, multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
• Proven history of leading successful healthcare data science initiatives.
• Capability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including clinicians and healthcare professionals.
• Preferred experience with electronic health records data and healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerization technologies preferred.
• Experience with AWS and Azure is a plus.
• Knowledge of R and SQL preferred.
