This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.
• Pipeline Development and Optimization: Create and sustain dependable, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines utilizing modern tools and best practices to ensure effective data flow for analytics and insights.
• Data Modeling and Transformation: Design and execute efficient data models that cater to business requirements, facilitating high-quality reporting and downstream analytics.
• Collaboration Across Teams: Partner closely with data analysts, product managers, and other engineers to comprehend data requirements and deliver solutions that align with business needs.
• Ensuring Data Quality: Establish and implement data quality checks, validation frameworks, and monitoring processes to guarantee the consistency, accuracy, and reliability of data.
• Performance and Efficiency: Detect and resolve performance issues in pipelines, queries, and data storage. Propose and implement optimizations that improve speed and reliability.
• Security and Compliance: Adhere to data security best practices and ensure that pipelines are constructed to comply with data privacy and compliance standards.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Experiment with new tools and methodologies by creating Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and conducting performance benchmarks to identify optimal solutions.
• Automation and CI/CD Practices: Engage in the development of robust CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or similar) for data workflows, facilitating automated testing and deployment.
• 4+ years of experience in data engineering or backend development, with a strong emphasis on constructing production-grade data pipelines.
• 2-3+ years of experience working with AWS services (Administration of Redshift is essential).
• Solid experience with AWS services (Spectrum, S3, RDS, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, SQS).
• Proficient in Python and SQL for data transformation and automation tasks.
• Experience utilizing dbt for data modeling and transformation.
• Good understanding of streaming architectures and micro-batching for real-time data requirements.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows (preferably GitLab CI).
• Familiarity with event schema validation tools/solutions (Snowplow, Schema Registry).
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
