This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in the U.S. to design and define solutions. Identify approaches that address business challenges, converting requirements into technical specifications and actionable tasks.
• Write code and implement the proposed solutions effectively.
• Create and manage data pipelines, including versioning and change management.
• Navigate the complexities associated with versioned data pipelines.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes to extract and manipulate data from various sources.
• Design, construct, and maintain batch or real-time data pipelines in a production environment.
• Automate data workflows, including data ingestion, aggregation, and ETL processing.
• Implement logging and instrumentation for pipelines and services.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, privacy, security, and compliance through quality control procedures.
• Proven expertise with at least 5+ years of experience in a data engineering role or a similar capacity.
• Advanced SQL proficiency and experience with relational databases and database design.
• Familiarity with cloud Data Warehouse solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Synapse, etc.).
• Strong Python skills, with hands-on experience using Pandas, NumPy, and other data-related libraries.
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, etc.
• Proficient in data pipeline and workflow management tools like Airflow.
• Experience with data visualization tools including PowerBI, Tableau, AWS QuickSight, etc.
• Experience with data engineering services from AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Knowledge of AWS services such as S3, Lambda, EMR, GLUE ETL, Athena, RDS, Redshift, EC2, IAM.

• Knowledge of Azure services such as ADF, Azure Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL DB.
• Strong exposure to working with Data Lakes and Data Warehouses.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Capability to mentor other data engineers.
• High proficiency in English is required for direct interaction with U.S.-based clients.
