Senior Data Engineer, Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and expand a contemporary healthcare data platform — creating essential services, automation, and observability that enhance real-world outcomes for patients and providers.

• Design and develop core services, automation tools, and integrations that support our client's data ecosystem.

• Manage high-impact components of the platform, enhancing pipeline reliability and observability.

• Collaborate closely with data engineering, analytics, and DevOps teams to improve the scalability and developer experience of our client's data platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in data engineering or software development.

• Proficient programming skills in Python & SQL, along with expertise in at least one major data platform (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar).

• Create tools for schema evolution, data contracts, and developer self-service.

• Extensive experience with streaming, distributed computing, or S3-based table formats (Spark, Kafka, Iceberg/Delta/Hudi).

• Familiarity with schema governance, metadata systems, and data quality frameworks.

• Knowledge of orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, etc.).

• Strong understanding of CI/CD processes and Docker.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in AWS.

• Experience in building data pipelines using dbt.
