Senior Data Engineer, Data Foundations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and execute high-performance data processing and serving strategies for extensive healthcare datasets utilizing Spark, Python, Rust, and SQL.

• Lead intricate cross-functional projects, managing trade-offs related to scalability, reliability, performance, cost, and delivery timelines.

• Establish and sustain comprehensive frameworks for data quality, validation, observability, lineage, monitoring, and alerting.

• Architect scalable Healthcare Map data products that support APIs, analytics, internal tools, and customer-facing applications.

• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Platform teams to convert healthcare use cases into scalable technical solutions.

• Promote engineering excellence in system design, code quality, testing, documentation, and CI/CD practices.

• Guide engineers through design reviews, technical coaching, and architectural advice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in designing data workflows, feature pipelines, or infrastructure specifically for AI/ML training, inference, experimentation, and monitoring.

• Demonstrated experience in creating large-scale, production-ready data products and analytical systems.

• Proficient in SQL, distributed processing frameworks (such as Spark), cloud data platforms, and high-scale computing systems using Python and/or Rust.

• Proven ability to design scalable data models, platform components, and architectures for distributed systems.

• Strong statistical and analytical capabilities; adept at validating data quality and product outcomes through thorough analysis.

• Effective communicator who can articulate technical decisions, trade-offs, and risks to engineers, product partners, and leadership.
