This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Take ownership and deliver significant data products within WSI’s medallion architecture.
• Convert raw and conformed data into governed, high-quality datasets suitable for analytics, AI, and operational purposes.
• Design, construct, and enhance data solutions on Microsoft Fabric, which includes pipelines, Lakehouse/Warehouse architectures, PySpark notebooks, and semantic models.
• Develop and implement data architecture patterns (medallion, SCD, CDC, orchestration, CI/CD), tailoring them to meet real-world scale, performance, and business requirements.
• Ensure data quality, observability, and performance at scale.
• Establish validation frameworks, monitoring systems, SLAs, and cost-efficient storage and compute strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into reusable, scalable data models and curated data products.
• Lead the integration of legacy reporting and BI tools into a cohesive, governed analytics platform.
• Incorporate security, governance, and best practices, including role-based access, cataloging, and release management.
• Serve as a technical leader, contributing to standards, mentoring colleagues, and enhancing overall engineering quality.
• Utilize modern development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar) to expedite delivery and improve engineering efficiency.
• Over 7 years of data engineering experience, developing and managing enterprise-scale data platforms and products.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar Microsoft data technologies, including Lakehouse/Warehouse architecture and OneLake.
• Proficiency in data pipelines and orchestration.
• Expertise in PySpark/Python-based data transformation.
• Knowledge in semantic modeling and integration with Power BI.
• Strong skills in SQL dimensional modeling (star/snowflake) and incremental data patterns (SCD, CDC).
• Proven experience in implementing data quality, testing, and observability frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Git-based workflows and CI/CD methodologies for data and analytics platforms.
• Experience in supporting business reporting and analytics, developing clean, usable semantic models and datasets.
• Domain knowledge in logistics, supply chain, or related systems (e.g., 3PL, WMS, TMS, OMS) is highly desirable.
