Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

• Construct the infrastructure necessary for the efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources such as Hadoop, Spark, AWS Lambda, etc.

• Lead and/or guide a small team of data engineers.

• Design, create, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance data integration pipelines.

• Create pipeline objects utilizing Apache Spark / Pyspark / Python or Scala.

• Architect and develop data pipeline structures using Hadoop, Spark, and associated AWS Services.

• Conduct loading and performance testing of data pipelines developed with the aforementioned technologies.

• Effectively communicate with client leadership and business stakeholders.

• Engage in proposal and/or SOW development.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, along with 5 years of experience in relevant roles is mandatory.

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in: Designing and implementing data pipelines in a cloud environment; Object-oriented programming in Scala, Python, R, or Java.

• At least 4 years of experience in: Writing complex, highly-optimized SQL queries across large datasets.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in: Implementing ETL pipelines using AWS, Azure, or GCP services; Designing/implementing solutions with one or more of the following databases: Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Synapse, Big Query, Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Netezza, Hadoop, MongoDB, or Cassandra.

• At least 2 years of experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
