Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL and reverse-ETL pipelines connecting Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, and legacy SQL Server systems.

• Create and enhance Snowflake data warehouse models, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and high availability.

• Implement and uphold row-level and column-level security measures to safeguard sensitive healthcare information.

• Collaborate with the current SQL Server Data Engineering team to strategize and carry out the migration of legacy ETL processes and warehouse models to Snowflake and the cloud.

• Construct and sustain data transformations utilizing dbt.

• Oversee pipeline health, troubleshoot issues, and guarantee uptime and data integrity across all data flows.

• Guide peers and contribute to engineering best practices, code reviews, and documentation efforts.

• Acquire knowledge and adopt Sigma as the organization’s BI and reporting solution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 10 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, and data warehouse modeling.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Snowflake, including aspects of architecture, optimization, and security.

• Strong expertise in SQL and Python.

• Familiarity with at least one major BI/visualization platform (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Sigma).

• Experience with dbt and Azure Data Factory.

• Previous experience handling healthcare data, with knowledge of data sensitivity, HIPAA compliance, and security best practices.

• Experience in implementing row-level and/or column-level security within a data warehouse context.

• Excellent self-management abilities with the capacity to work independently in a fully remote setting.
