Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• This position focuses on designing, constructing, and upholding scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to facilitate the effective processing and analysis of vast, intricate data sets.

• This role is oriented towards making an impact, as we believe our optimal results occur through collaboration. While we maintain a flexible working model, we anticipate that you will spend time on-site (either at our offices or at client locations) for collaborative sessions, customer interactions, and internal workshops.

• Create and sustain automated data processing pipelines utilizing Google Cloud:

• - Design, construct, and manage data pipelines to support data ingestion, ETL processes, and storage solutions.

• - Develop and uphold automated data pipelines to monitor data quality and resolve issues.

• Implement and manage databases and data storage solutions:

• - Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies within the realms of big data and data engineering.

• - Guarantee data quality, precision, and completeness.

• Enforce and implement data governance policies and procedures to uphold data quality and accuracy:

• - Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design and refine data models for analytical and reporting objectives.

• - Develop and sustain data models to facilitate analytics and reporting.

• - Oversee and maintain data infrastructure to ensure its availability and performance.

• - Experience in contributing to technical decision-making during ongoing projects.

• - A proven history of participating in a diverse array of projects using various tools and technologies, and addressing a wide range of challenges utilizing your technical skills.

• - Demonstrated proficiency in using strong communication and stakeholder management skills while engaging with customers.

• - Extensive experience with cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• - Robust proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.

• - Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.

• - Understanding of data warehousing and ETL tools, including Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Apache Airflow.

• - Proficiency in Python and at least one additional programming language such as Java or Scala.

• - Openness to mentoring junior team members.

• - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
