This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +6 more states.
• Utilize expertise in healthcare and database management to analyze clinical data and identify as well as report trends.
• Create and develop modern data-centric software applications that support clinical and operational processes across the healthcare system.
• Construct data pipelines and transformations, data enrichment processes, provisioning layers, and user interfaces to fulfill the requirements of key initiatives.
• Guide and support less experienced Data Engineers through mentorship.
• Engage in research and development of innovative technologies to establish repeatable processes or templates for other Data Engineers.
• Work collaboratively with Product, Platform, and Architecture teams to achieve shared objectives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer.
• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering (preferred).
• 8 years of experience in data development (preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of Hadoop / Spark / NoSQL (including Spark, Hadoop ecosystem, Kafka, Flink, and NoSQL platforms) (preferred).
• Proficiency in SQL and Python (including Python, SQL, and Linux-based processing) (preferred).
• Experience with OLAP / Cloud Data Warehousing (Snowflake, Synapse, Redshift, BigQuery, and dimensional models) (preferred).
• Background in Unstructured & Multimodal Data Engineering (EHR/EMR, HL7, FHIR, APIs, and clinical notes) (preferred).
• Familiarity with Modern Application Development Frameworks (specifically FastAPI and Flask) (preferred).
• Knowledge of Modern ETL / ELT Tooling (such as ADF, Glue, Airflow, dbt, NiFi, Informatica, and Fivetran) (preferred).
• Experience in AI/ML + LLM / Prompt Engineering (including LLM pipelines, RAG, LangChain/LlamaIndex, embeddings, and vector databases) (preferred).
