Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality data pipelines for large-scale supply chain datasets.

• Take ownership of comprehensive data modeling, warehousing architecture, and ensure pipeline reliability across various customer environments.

• Work collaboratively with Data Science, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Customer Success teams to enhance and iterate on product deployments.

• Troubleshoot intricate pipeline failures and identify performance bottlenecks within distributed systems.

• Lead initiatives to enhance engineering practices, tools, and deployment automation.

• Guide and support junior data engineers, promoting technical development within the team.

• Contribute to Daybreak's ethos of continuous learning and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering, demonstrating ownership of production pipelines.

• High proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks.

• Advanced SQL capabilities across various databases (including PostgreSQL and others).

• Practical experience with pipeline orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Dagster.

• Familiarity with distributed data systems such as Spark, Hive, or HDFS.

• Strong understanding of containers and Docker within a development and deployment context.

• Excellent debugging skills and a systematic approach to resolving data quality challenges.

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Capacity to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to new technologies.
