Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with engineering, analysts, data scientists, and product teams to deliver top-notch modern data solutions.

• Design, integrate, and implement data solutions on-premises.

• Assist in the migration of existing workloads to cloud environments.

• Process payer files for the Data Warehouse.

• Develop and adjust SQL, Python, and PySpark code to support both cloud-based and on-premises data warehousing services.

• Diagnose data issues and apply methods for performance enhancement.

• Recognize and implement process improvements and industry best practices.

• Take ownership of tasks within a dynamic, collaborative, team-oriented support setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience with SQL and relational database management systems.

• More than 3 years of experience with cloud data engineering platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Databricks, or Snowflake.

• At least 3 years of experience with on-premises data engineering platforms like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or Teradata.

• Proficient in programming and modifying code with SQL, Python, and PySpark.

• Practical experience with dimensional data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing.

• Direct experience in troubleshooting data issues.

• Proven experience with techniques for performance improvement.

• Openness to identify and implement process enhancements and best practices.

• Capability to take ownership in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented support environment.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

• Familiarity with healthcare data and insurance feeds is advantageous.
