This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Develop and maintain the data platform, encompassing data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and serving.
• Manage Fivetran and custom extracts, perform dbt transformations, utilize BigQuery and Metabase, all orchestrated with Airflow.
• Construct data models that are business-friendly for attribution, cohorts, LTV, conversions, returns, and fulfillment.
• Collaborate directly with marketing, finance, and operations teams to convert business inquiries into actionable datasets.
• Address and rectify incorrect business inquiries when necessary.
• Ensure reliability through rigorous testing, monitoring, alerting, data freshness, and resolution of breakages.
• Oversee and manage costs associated with the data warehouse and related tools.
• Facilitate business self-service by providing documented models, clear semantics, and reliable dashboards.
• Leverage AI coding tools daily to enhance delivery speed.
• Become part of a two-person data team, taking individual responsibility from the first week.
• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Proficient in Python and SQL, capable of writing, reading, and optimizing production queries.
• Experience with dbt or similar transformation tools in a production environment.
• Familiarity with production orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
• Strong understanding of data modeling across data warehouses, lakes, and lakehouses.
• Experience with a cloud analytical warehouse; BigQuery is preferred, but Snowflake, Redshift, or ClickHouse are also acceptable.
• Regular use of AI coding tools, with the ability to provide a recent example of their application, including validation and corrections.
• Proficient in English at a minimum of B2/C1 level.
• At least 4 hours of overlap with European working hours required.
• Hands-on working approach with a track record of delivering personal contributions within the last 90 days.
• Experience in a consumer-facing, high-volume commercial domain is a plus.
• Familiarity with Databricks or distributed processing is advantageous.
• Experience with streaming and near-real-time data processing is desirable.
• Knowledge of Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD practices for data workflows is preferred.
• Proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
