Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain data lake and data warehousing solutions for a B2B multi-tenant SaaS platform.

• Engage in the complete data pipeline lifecycle.

• Oversee code and design reviews with junior and peer developers.

• Produce clean code to create data pipelines and the necessary infrastructure as code.

• Monitor and resolve performance, scalability, and security issues, implementing enhancements as required.

• Contribute to the assessment of new technologies and tools that can enhance our system's performance.

• Take part in the data governance process.

• Assist in the design and documentation of our data lake platform.

• Collect technical and design requirements.

• Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical team members to ensure project alignment and successful execution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally requires at least 5 years of relevant experience or 3 years coupled with an advanced degree.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or data engineering.

• Proven experience in developing modern data architecture, analytics, data governance, AI/ML, or related fields.

• Familiarity with AWS big data technologies, including EMR, Glue, S3, EKS, Lambda, Athena, RDS, MKS/Kafka/Kinesis.

• Comprehensive understanding of the entire data engineering process (design, development, deployment).

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB, MongoDB, etc., along with data modeling principles.

• Proficient in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployment/Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code/AWS Cloud Formation/Terraform.

• Expertise in SQL (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and Python.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

• Significant experience with legacy data warehouses and ETL pipelines.

• Exceptional analytical and time management abilities, with a proven track record of delivering independent value.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience providing technical input to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
