Senior Data Developer, SAP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance intricate Calculation Views utilizing SAP HANA 2.0 (HDI Containers, Web IDE, or Business Application Studio)

• Construct advanced Table Functions and Stored Procedures through SQLScript to cater to analytical and transactional workloads

• Implement and sustain HDI Containers, Synonyms, and .hdbgrants configurations to guarantee appropriate data access governance

• Create, manage, and troubleshoot robust data pipelines utilizing SAP Data Services (BODS) to transfer data from S/4HANA to Google BigQuery

• Develop and execute delta-load frameworks that reduce data extraction overhead while ensuring data freshness

• Oversee BODS job servers and set up intricate transformations to satisfy business and technical requirements

• Utilize S/4HANA standard CDS Views and ODP (Operational Data Provisioning) frameworks for efficient and scalable data extraction

• Navigate the S/4HANA data dictionary (e.g., ACDOCA, MATDOC) to pinpoint optimal data sources and extraction methodologies

• Confirm that extraction logic aligns with business processes (e.g., Sales Orders, Material Documents, Financial Postings)

• Configure and enhance connectivity between SAP and Google Cloud Platform, employing Google Cloud Storage (GCS) for staging and the BigQuery Adapter for bulk data loading

• Design and execute file-based integration patterns using Parquet and CSV formats to optimize load performance

• Enhance BigQuery table partitioning, clustering, and schema design to facilitate high-performance analytics at scale

• Continuously assess and refine data pipeline performance to attain real-time or near-real-time data availability

• Diagnose integration issues across SAP HANA, BODS, GCS, and BigQuery, ensuring minimal disruption to downstream users

• Suggest architectural enhancements that balance data freshness, system performance, and cost-effectiveness

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in English (both written and spoken) — essential for collaborating with international teams and client stakeholders

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with SAP HANA 2.0, encompassing XSA architecture, HDI Containers, Synonyms, and .hdbgrants

• Expert-level knowledge in SAP Data Services (BODS), including the development of delta-load frameworks, job server management, and configuration of complex transformations

• Practical experience in migrating SAP data to Google BigQuery, with a thorough understanding of BigQuery partitioning, clustering, and schema optimization

• Strong familiarity with the S/4HANA data dictionary (e.g., ACDOCA, MATDOC) and Core Data Services (CDS) views

• Advanced SQLScript capabilities for crafting Table Functions and Stored Procedures within SAP HANA

• Practical exposure to file-based staging integration patterns using Google Cloud Storage (Parquet/CSV formats)

• "Generalist" mindset: the ability to comprehend both business logic (e.g., how a Sales Order flows) and technical implementation specifics

• Nice to Have:

• SAP certification in HANA 2.0 or S/4HANA

• Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification

• Experience with additional GCP services (Cloud Composer, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions)

• Familiarity with SAP BW/4HANA or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• Understanding of data governance frameworks and master data management (MDM) principles

• Previous involvement in large-scale ERP data modernization or cloud migration initiatives
