Senior Cyber Systems Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Configure and manage maintenance, architectural, design, and functional modifications to Sentinel/Splunk Enterprise, ES, SOAR, and Phantom.

• Implement platform hardening in accordance with standards such as STIGs or CIS Benchmarks.

• Collect and assess requirements, propose implementation and integration solutions, and plan and manage system deployment projects until completion.

• Perform gap assessments and security solution evaluations; suggest improvement initiatives.

• Design scalable, efficient, stable, reliable, and agile architectures.

• Implement, administer, maintain, troubleshoot, conduct root cause analysis, and provide break-fix support for security tools.

• Analyze defense-in-depth vulnerabilities and recommend enhancements to SOC infrastructure, environment, architecture, and security posture.

• Develop and enforce secure configuration standards for SOC tools.

• Monitor system updates and plan, review, and implement patch and upgrade deployments.

• Define, develop, maintain, and enhance health and performance monitoring dashboards, alerts, and reports.

• Proactively monitor SOC tools to identify and address issues.

• Analyze business requirements and research and recommend tools that support PAM, forensics, DevSecOps, defense-in-depth, and zero-trust objectives.

• Plan, define, and implement data backup and archiving strategies.

• Define, develop, implement, and refine processes and procedures that support SOC tools.

• Design and manage enterprise EDR systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of ten (10) years of hands-on experience in LAN/Network Administration.

• At least five (5) years of experience as a Technical Lead on system management/deployment projects, particularly focusing on Linux-based operating systems.

• A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in enterprise and security architecture, design, implementation, and support.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related scientific or technical field.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Selected applicants may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.

• Self-starter with the ability to gather requirements, plan, and execute system deployment initiatives.

• Capable of performing gap analysis and initiating and executing architectural and design enhancements.

• Experience in system architecture, engineering, or administration.

• Customer-focused with strong issue resolution and follow-through skills.

• Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and self-motivated.

• Proficient in utilizing tools and analytical skills to plan and implement technical changes.

• Experience with Sentinel/Splunk/ES/Phantom, Palo Alto Panorama, Tanium, Thycotic Secret Server, Shodan, RiskSense, Security IQ, ServiceNow, Tenable SC/TenableIO, and Plixer Scrutinizer.

• Experience in architecting multi-tier systems/applications, including Sentinel/Splunk ES and Phantom.

• Experience in analyzing and applying security architecture best practices.

• Proficient in Windows, Linux, Database, and Web Applications system administration.

• Scripting skills in Perl/Python/Bash/PowerShell.

• Experience in technical analysis, planning, and estimation for project tasks.

• Experience in conducting market research on technology capabilities, technical analysis/review, and recommendations.
