This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Cultivate and foster robust relationships with prominent US food companies to advocate for the significance of animal welfare and environmental sustainability objectives that lead to policy commitments, annual reporting, implementation plans, collaboration, and ultimately measurable advancements toward those goals.
• Keep meticulous and precise records concerning company accounts, engagements, and progress.
• Expand the corporate policy team's network of contacts.
• Design and present engaging presentations to inform food business leaders about welfare issues and enhanced sourcing opportunities.
• Conduct research on essential information regarding leading food companies and the broader industry landscape.
• Collaborate and provide support across teams, including website content creation, media interviews, information requests, and more.
• Assist in the organization of food business events as necessary.
• Represent CIWF at industry conferences and events, as well as in discussions with various stakeholders and industry groups.
• Contribute to strategic planning for US Corporate Policy, helping to shape the rationale behind and execution of plans.
• Potentially oversee direct and indirect reports as assigned, including recruiting and developing staff as needed.
• Perform other assigned duties.
• **Education:** Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• **Work Experience:** A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
• **Mission-alignment:** A strong commitment to CIWF’s mission and objectives.
• **Relationship management:** Proficient in developing and sustaining strong professional relationships, even through initial outreach, such as sales. Experience in managing complex projects with external collaborators.
• **Personability:** A friendly and positive demeanor.
• **Communication and stakeholder influence:** Exceptional and convincing verbal and written communication skills.
• **Travel:** Willingness and ability to travel as required, up to approximately 20% of the time.
• **Self-motivation and organization:** A strong drive to work independently and effectively, managing multiple projects at once.
• **Research and data management:** Proficient in sourcing critical and often elusive food industry-related information pertinent to outreach and partner support. Dedication to maintaining records with a high degree of detail and accuracy, utilizing CRM (Salesforce), spreadsheets, and additional digital tools. While previous CRM experience is not mandatory, the ability to learn to utilize a CRM and other digital tools is essential.
• **Expertise and interest:** A profound interest in farm animal welfare and sustainability. Subject matter expertise in the food industry, farm animal welfare, and food systems sustainability, and/or the capacity to quickly educate oneself on these issues.
