Senior Coordinator, Revenue Cycle

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.

📋 Description

• Overseeing a significant volume of medical claims that have been denied

• Challenging denials in accordance with payer guidelines through meticulous review, correction, and resubmission

• Acting as the representative for the Accounts Receivable department to both internal and external teams, clients, vendors, and processors

• Analyzing and quantifying trends/issues, formulating potential solutions, and effectively communicating them to management

• Efficiently prioritizing and managing pending refund requests and overpayments

• Identifying and implementing process improvements throughout the department

• Detecting and addressing coding deficiencies in compliance with regulations

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in Medical Billing or health plan claims adjudication

• Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-9/10, and CMS 1500 claim formatting

• Familiarity with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transmission, Electronic Health Record, or encounter charge creation

• Knowledge of national HIPAA, PHI, and other regulatory standards

• Technical Certificate in Medical Billing is preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word

• Strong time management abilities

• Capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Experience with Athena Practice Management is preferred
