Senior Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Prepare the CMS-64.10 quarterly sub-schedules, ensuring all administrative expenditures are accurately reported to CMS.

• Manage the reconciliation and claiming process for Medicaid Administrative Claiming, applying appropriate cost allocation methodologies and federal matching rates (FMAP).

• Monitor and track expenditures in relation to Advanced Planning Documents (APD) and ensure that APD project spending complies with federal approvals.

• Stay updated on changes in federal claiming policies to ensure agency reporting is compliant and ready for audits.

• Actively seek opportunities to improve data collection processes and enhance the accuracy of federal reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

• At least 3+ (THREE) years of overall work experience.

• Experience in Federal healthcare or State Medicaid finance.

• Familiarity with healthcare reporting.

• Ability to translate complex federal claiming requirements into financial summaries.

• Intermediate to expert MS Excel skills are essential, with comfort in managing large datasets.

• Knowledge of Public Assistance Cost Allocation Plans (PACAP).

• Functional understanding of the CMS-64 reporting process, Medicaid Administrative Claiming, and familiarity with the APD/IAPD planning and approval process, as well as Medicaid data systems (MMIS and E&E).

• A self-starter with strong intellectual curiosity, capable of investigating data anomalies and identifying operational factors behind financial outcomes.

• The ideal candidate would have experience working for a State health and human services agency or with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
