This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Design, develop, enhance, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise-level BPM applications.
• Convert business process software requirement specifications into prototypes and solutions.
• Assist in data collection and analysis to support risk mitigation and issue resolution.
• May assume the role of Team Lead within a development pod.
• Execute projects utilizing Agile development methodologies.
• Clarify key Agile terminology and ceremonies to individuals who are new to Agile, both internally and externally.
• Conduct Code Reviews with proper execution.
• Exhibit a high level of expertise in Appian, serving as an escalation point for junior team members seeking guidance.
• Oversee project progress, ensuring that all project stories and tasks remain aligned with commitments, while properly identifying and documenting any risks or blockers to prevent delays or assist the development team.
• Lead Sprint 0s, accurately capturing the scope and requirements for engagements.
• As Team Lead, facilitate all sprint ceremonies, ensuring that each meeting adds value and meets its objectives and agenda.
• Responsible for notifying the client of any backlog reprioritization, including the impact on the initial scope outlined in the Release Plan.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure all relevant stakeholders attend the necessary meetings. If any Sprint Ceremonies lack scheduling or appropriate participants, this must be escalated to the PM immediately.
• Accountable for managing all releases across various environments.
• Effectively escalate issues when necessary, clearly communicating potential impacts and risks.
• At least three (3) years of experience in Appian software development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience throughout the software development life cycle.
• Strong understanding of Agile concepts, including familiarity with relevant terms and ceremonies.
• Proven expertise in Appian, serving as a resource for junior team members.
• Excellent analytical skills with experience in designing and delivering complex, highly scalable software components.
• Ability to interpret, analyze, and convey business requirements clearly to the development team.
• Capable of independently developing stories with minimal feedback from Peer Reviews and Quality Assurance.
• Proficient in interacting with clients, ensuring clear understanding in both directions.
• Strong leadership skills, with the capability to manage and delegate tasks to junior resources.
• Adept at executing Code Reviews and ensuring adherence to Best Practices to prevent bugs from progressing to higher environments.
• Skilled in monitoring project stories and tasks to ensure they remain on track to meet commitments.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, capable of preparing for and leading both internal and client-facing Sprint ceremonies, including requirement gathering and Sprint planning sessions.
• Must efficiently manage multiple tasks and adapt in a dynamic data environment.
• A passion for technology and innovation.
• Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, MariaDB, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
