Senior Construction Defect Claims Specialist – CGL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Overseeing a portfolio of intricate construction defect claims from the beginning until resolution.

• Evaluating CGL coverage, endorsements, exclusions, and the transfer of contractual risks.

• Managing multi-party and litigated cases with a strategic focus on resolution.

• Establishing and modifying reserves based on exposure assessments and litigation strategies.

• Choosing and overseeing defense counsel and expert vendors.

• Engaging in mediations and settlement discussions within authorized limits.

• Drafting comprehensive coverage analyses and recommendations when escalation is necessary.

• Recognizing and pursuing subrogation or contribution possibilities.

• Collaborating with underwriting, legal, and management teams on emerging exposure trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial general liability claims.

• Robust expertise in construction defect claims, including litigated and multi-party cases.

• Proven experience handling California construction defect claims.

• Extensive knowledge of CGL coverage interpretation and risk transfer analysis.

• Experience in working with defense counsel and participating in mediation sessions.

• Excellent technical writing and analytical capabilities.

• Active adjuster license (or ability to obtain one if required).
