This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Conduct both virtual and in-person investigations by visiting the residences of policyholders to assess property damage, ascertain liability, evaluate the extent of loss, and negotiate equitable settlements.
• Utilize claims handling software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess claims-related damage and generate estimates in a paperless setting.
• Analyze and report on potential opportunities for subrogation.
• Report incidents involving theft, fraud, or arson to the relevant state and industry agencies.
• Execute duties independently, with the outcomes of work directly influencing management decisions.
• Serve as a company representative in public engagements, maintaining a professional demeanor that aligns with management standards.
• Regularly interact with a diverse array of stakeholders, including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other pertinent parties.
• Apply strong customer service skills to negotiate with policyholders in order to resolve claims.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Promote safety consistently and adhere to safety/ergonomic standards as outlined in relevant company manuals.
• Employees assigned to the Catastrophe team will be required to temporarily travel away from their residence for a designated period, typically lasting 23 days. Although this role is not exclusively CAT-focused, new hires will be expected to commit to 1–3 CAT deployments annually.
• High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Exceptional customer service experience, preferably within a retail context.
• Construction or insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Computer literate, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Proficient with smartphones and relevant applications.
• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage comprehensively to understand how coverage applies to specific losses.
• Outgoing personality that enjoys engaging with a wide variety of individuals, including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and fraud investigators.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and bondable status.
• Final candidates will also undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check, as this position may involve the use of a company vehicle.
