This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage and deliver essential components of the Compliance Program, which includes monitoring and testing, handling complaints and disputes, training, and formulating policies and procedures.
• Perform quarterly assessments and testing of federal and state regulatory requirements along with the related controls.
• Communicate observations, exceptions, and findings to senior leadership, facilitating corrective actions and enhancements to controls.
• Oversee regulatory compliance in areas such as consumer financial protection, data protection and privacy, and Bank Secrecy Act obligations.
• Develop and expand monitoring and testing programs while providing compliance metrics to senior management.
• Review and address SCRA determination requests, escalating complex cases to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Assist with investigations related to credit bureau reporting, supervise corrections, and ensure data reconciliation across various systems and bureaus.
• Investigate and resolve servicing-related complaints, disputes, and operational challenges.
• Support regulatory examination requests and address any gaps in documentation or sampling.
• Respond to requests for privileged and legal research concerning accounts involved in ongoing proceedings.
• Monitor and analyze new state and federal legislation that may impact the business and its vendors.
• Draft and circulate memoranda that summarize regulatory requirements and implementation strategies.
• Maintain and enhance a state-based compliance knowledge repository.
• Lead compliance-focused projects from initial research through to implementation.
• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to operationalize compliance mandates.
• Identify compliance-related risks, assess their operational implications, and devise actionable solutions.
• Analyze data and metrics, recognize trends, and communicate insights to relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of operating procedures, policies, and consumer-facing communications.
• A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least five years of experience in Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, or a similar role within a regulated consumer financial services setting.
• Experience in supporting consumer lending and loan servicing operations.
• Previous experience with organizations under state regulatory oversight is preferred.
• Solid understanding of TILA, FCRA, FTC Act, ECOA, MLA, FDCPA, GLBA, UDAAP, SCRA, BSA requirements, and relevant state regulations.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and testing compliance controls.
• Background in evaluating control effectiveness, identifying compliance risks, and suggesting corrective measures.
• Professional certifications such as CCEP, CRCM, CIA, or CAMS are preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online research tools, databases, and regulatory resources.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis abilities.
• Capability to assess risk, analyze operational processes, and propose compliant and business-friendly solutions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex regulatory concepts to various audiences.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across different teams.
• Sound professional judgment with the ability to identify emerging risks, escalate concerns, and facilitate resolution.
• Adaptability and quick learning skills for new regulations, processes, and business needs.
