Senior Communications Lead, Media Relations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee the media strategy and implementation for Chainlink's significant announcements related to DeFi, banking, capital markets, tokenized assets, stablecoins, interoperability, data, and compliance.

• Convert intricate technical, institutional, and market-infrastructure advancements into straightforward narratives for mainstream business, financial, crypto, and trade audiences.

• Achieve high-quality earned media coverage in leading business, financial, broadcast, crypto, fintech, and institutional trade outlets.

• Develop and nurture robust personal relationships with journalists, editors, producers, and bookers in financial services, technology, crypto, and capital markets.

• Determine the appropriate targets for each announcement, including mainstream business outlets, financial television, crypto-native publications, trade media, podcasts, newsletters, and industry analysts.

• Manage the complete announcement process encompassing strategy, press materials, targeted pitching, embargo management, spokesperson preparation, interview coordination, coverage tracking, and post-launch reporting.

• Prepare executives and spokespeople for interviews, briefings, broadcast appearances, podcasts, conference media, and sensitive discussions.

• Draft and enhance press releases, pitches, messaging documents, Q&As, briefing materials, talking points, reactive statements, and reporter backgrounders.

• Track market, media, policy, and Web3 narratives to identify timely opportunities for Chainlink to engage or influence the broader dialogue.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, business development, ecosystem, legal, policy, marketing, social, and content teams to ensure all external communications are accurate and strategically aligned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7+ years of experience in communications, PR, or media relations, preferably in crypto, fintech, financial services, capital markets, enterprise technology, or high-growth tech sectors.

• A proven history of securing coverage for significant company, product, partnership, funding, institutional, or ecosystem announcements.

• Established relationships with leading business, financial, broadcast, crypto, fintech, and trade media, including journalists, editors, producers, and bookers.

• Ability to simplify complex or technical subjects into engaging narratives suitable for both mainstream and professional financial audiences.

• Strong comprehension of the Web3 sector, encompassing DeFi, tokenization, stablecoins, blockchain infrastructure, crypto markets, and institutional adoption.

• Exceptional writing and editing skills across press releases, pitches, messaging documents, Q&As, briefing materials, and executive talking points.

• Highly organized and execution-focused, adept at managing multiple announcements, stakeholders, and timelines simultaneously.

• Comfortable engaging directly with senior executives and preparing them for high-stakes media interactions.

• Experience working in-house, at an agency, or both.

• Ability to thrive in a remote-first setting where significant announcements may not align with traditional 9-to-5 hours.
