Senior Cloud Engineer, NodeJS, TS/JS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• BUILD & OPERATE CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE

• Design, construct, and manage the infrastructure that powers our cloud platform, ensuring high availability, performance, and developer efficiency.

• Challenge the limits of our scalability to accommodate millions of users.

• OBSERVABILITY, SECURITY & AUTOMATION

• Enhance observability, monitoring, and alerting systems while minimizing operational toil through automation and intelligent tooling.

• Strengthen the security and observability framework.

• RELIABILITY (KTLO) & ON-CALL

• Participate in the on-call rotation to maintain the health and performance of our systems.

• Take ownership of and advance KTLO (keep-the-lights-on) tasks: address reliability issues, performance bottlenecks, and critical bug resolutions.

• CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION & STRATEGY

• Work closely with Cloud team engineers and coordinate with product engineers and PMs from various teams to support cross-functional initiatives; collaborate with other engineering teams, Support, Customer Success, and Sales.

• Play a crucial role in strategic technical decisions, including architecture, tooling, and platform development.

⛳️ Requirements

• 🧱 Strong Infrastructure/Cloud/DevOps experience: Proven background in infrastructure /Cloud / DevOps engineering with the ability to scale a complex platform for many users.

• 🟩 Application development experience with Node.js.

• 🔁 CI/CD pipelines: In-depth understanding of CI/CD pipelines and build processes.

• 📈 Observability & performance: Experience in observability, monitoring, and performance optimization.

• 🧰 Proficient in:

• Kubernetes

• Terraform

• One or more major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)

• TypeScript or JavaScript

• 🌱 Growth mindset: A willingness to learn and discover solutions.

• Nice-to-haves:

• 🧑‍✈️ Leadership: Ability to serve as a tech lead for the team, exhibiting a positive and hands-on servant-leadership approach is a plus.

• 🔐 Architecture: Familiarity with distributed systems, security, and cloud-native architecture.

• 🏁 Environment: Experience in a scrappy startup, small high-trust teams, or entrepreneurial settings.

• 🟦 Cloud: Experience with Azure.
