Senior Cloud Engineer – Infrastructure, Application Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain the infrastructure that supports our cloud platform, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and developer efficiency.

• Challenge the limits of how we scale to accommodate millions of users.

• Enhance observability, monitoring, and alerting, while minimizing operational toil through automation and effective tools.

• Strengthen the security and observability framework.

• Participate in on-call rotations to help maintain the health and performance of our systems.

• Take ownership of and advance KTLO (keep-the-lights-on) initiatives: address reliability issues, performance bottlenecks, and urgent bug fixes.

• Collaborate closely with Cloud team engineers and coordinate with product engineers and PMs from various teams to facilitate cross-functional projects; work alongside other engineering teams, Support, Customer Success, and Sales.

• Play an integral role in strategic technical decisions, encompassing architecture, tools, and platform development.

⛳️ Requirements

• 🧱 Strong experience in Infrastructure/Cloud/DevOps: Proven track record in infrastructure, Cloud, and DevOps engineering with a focus on scaling complex platforms for numerous users.

• 🟩 Experience in application development utilizing Node.js.

• 🔁 Proficient in CI/CD pipelines: In-depth understanding of CI/CD pipelines and build processes.

• 📈 Knowledge in observability & performance: Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and performance optimization.

• 🧰 Skills in:

• Kubernetes

• Terraform

• One or more leading cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP)

• TypeScript or JavaScript

• 🌱 A growth mindset: Willingness to learn and explore solutions.

• 🧑‍✈️ Leadership qualities: Ability to act as a tech lead for the team, exhibiting a positive, hands-on servant-leadership approach is a plus.

• 🔐 Understanding of architecture: Familiarity with distributed systems, security, and cloud-native architecture.

• 🏁 Experience in dynamic environments: Previous experience in a scrappy startup, small high-trust teams, or entrepreneurial settings.

• 🟦 Cloud expertise: Experience with Azure.
