Senior Cloud Architect, Field Engineering – GenAI Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Conduct impactful AI engagements.

• Take the lead on hands-on delivery for GenAI implementations, funded projects, technical proof-of-value initiatives, and other AI-related customer efforts.

• Convert customer objectives into actionable architectures, implementation strategies, and quantifiable technical results.

• Develop, configure, and validate AWS-native AI and data solutions, focusing on production-ready architectures and services.

• Manage technical execution from the discovery phase to delivery, including design reviews, workshops, implementation support, and executive-ready presentations.

• Engage in complex customer scenarios where technical expertise, speed, and credibility are essential.

• Drive results across the four FE growth pillars.

• Facilitate product adoption by assisting customers in implementing and integrating DoiT products as part of AI engagements and broader cloud initiatives.

• Aid in acquiring new logos by leveraging technical consulting, implementation projects, and proof-of-value work to open and advance new opportunities.

• Expand the install base by supporting existing customers in adopting advanced features, initiating new workloads, and transitioning to higher-value products and services.

• Enhance partner leadership by collaborating with AWS partner teams, supporting funded programs, and positioning DoiT as a strategic technical ally in AI initiatives.

• Transform fieldwork into repeatable processes.

• Identify patterns, reusable assets, and "gravel road" solutions that should evolve into standard delivery methods, playbooks, or product feedback.

• Assist in converting successful one-off customer projects into repeatable solution packages, templates, and standardized offerings for the wider team.

• Contribute to the standardization of engagement sizing, delivery methods, and technical resources to enhance team efficiency over time.

• Work collaboratively across functions to close and deliver projects.

• Collaborate closely with Solution Engineers, Account Managers, Customer Success Managers, Engagement Managers, and partner teams to scope and execute the appropriate work at the right time.

• Provide technical leadership during discovery, planning, handoff, and delivery phases.

• Ensure that customer engagements are well-defined, thoroughly documented, and linked to clear success metrics.

• Operate with clear discipline.

• Maintain transparency regarding active projects, risks, dependencies, and next steps.

• Utilize the team’s operating systems and workflows to keep customer engagement data updated and measurable.

• Contribute to adoption playbooks, funding workflows, Jira management, and the operational cadence required to scale the Field Engineering model.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in customer-facing cloud architecture, technical consulting, solutions delivery, or field engineering.

• Practical experience with AWS in real-world customer settings.

• Familiarity with modern AI and GenAI architectures on AWS, especially Amazon Bedrock (Knowledge Bases, model evaluation, guardrails), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques with vector databases, and agentic AI design patterns. Knowledge of AWS CDK or similar infrastructure-as-code for deploying AI workloads.

• Ability to transition effortlessly between technical depth and customer-facing communication.

• Experience in leading workshops, discovery sessions, implementation efforts, or technical proof-of-value activities.

• Strong judgment in uncertain environments; capable of simplifying, prioritizing, and progressing work without cumbersome processes.

• Comfortable collaborating with sales, delivery, customer success, product, and partner stakeholders.

• Possess a natural ownership mentality: escalate issues early, resolve them quickly, and take responsibility for outcomes.
