This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +9 more states.
• Investigate, assess, reserve, negotiate, and resolve high-exposure and intricate casualty claims in line with company policies and best practices.
• Identify coverage concerns and draft reservation of rights or denial letters as necessary.
• Conduct comprehensive investigations, which include obtaining recorded statements, scrutinizing police and medical records, and assessing liability and damages.
• Establish and uphold suitable reserves backed by timely documentation and continuous claim assessment.
• Manage litigated cases in collaboration with defense counsel, including strategy formulation, discovery supervision, and evaluation of settlement prospects.
• Prepare cases for and represent MMG during mediations, arbitrations, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
• Direct and oversee independent adjusters, investigators, appraisers, experts, and other external vendors as required.
• Communicate professionally and clearly with insured individuals, claimants, attorneys, agents, medical providers, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify subrogation prospects and prepare files for recovery efforts.
• Foster and maintain positive working relationships with agents, independent adjusting firms, attorneys, and vendors.
• Travel as necessary to fulfill key job functions, attend meetings, and participate in training or educational opportunities.
• Execute additional tasks as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree and 8–10 years of experience in casualty claims, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience managing high-exposure, high-severity, and large loss casualty claims, including complex injury and litigated cases.
• Advanced understanding of casualty coverages, policy interpretation, and reserving practices, with the capability to evaluate claims with significant financial implications.
• Demonstrated ability to autonomously manage litigated files, including collaborating with defense counsel, assessing risk, and creating resolution strategies.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively articulate and defend claim decisions in adversarial contexts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including the capacity to draft clear and professional coverage correspondence.
• Proven track record of independently managing complex workloads while meeting deadlines and service expectations.
• Display professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to remain composed and effective under pressure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal partners and external vendors.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to approximately 25%, as business needs dictate.
