This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, implement, and analyze integrative computational studies encompassing transcriptomic, proteomic, genetic, and various biological data types.
• Assist in target identification, biomarker discovery, mechanism-of-action investigations, and translational research efforts.
• Combine public and internal datasets to create, prioritize, and refine therapeutic hypotheses across a range of disease programs.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary scientists to convert computational analyses into actionable scientific insights.
• Present findings through presentations, written reports, scientific publications, and conferences.
• Spot opportunities where diverse biological data can resolve complex scientific inquiries.
• Formulate therapeutic hypotheses and progress biomarker discovery initiatives.
• Utilize AI-driven computational methods while exercising sound scientific judgment.
• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, or a related quantitative field.
• Over 5 years of experience in industry and/or postdoctoral positions applying computational techniques to large-scale biological datasets.
• Proven experience in integrating transcriptomic, proteomic, genetic, and other biological datasets.
• Background in supporting biomarker discovery, translational research, or target identification within a biotechnology or pharmaceutical context.
• Proficiency in Python for scientific computation and data analysis.
• Capacity to quickly learn new disease domains, identify suitable datasets, and synthesize diverse evidence into actionable scientific insights.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Ability to excel as an independent contributor in a collaborative, dynamic research setting.
• Experience with transcriptomic techniques, particularly single-cell RNA sequencing (preferred).
• Familiarity with spatial transcriptomics or related cellular profiling technologies (strongly preferred).
• Experience utilizing large language models and agentic AI workflows for computational biology research, with scientific validation of outputs (preferred).
• In-depth expertise in at least one area of computational biology while contributing broadly to multiomics analyses (preferred).
• Willingness to travel periodically to GondolaBio's Palo Alto office or conference venues as necessary.
