Senior Java Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Responsible for the design and development of the SecureFlag backend platform.

• Perform maintenance and enhancements on the existing platform.

• Create and maintain automated tests and CI pipelines.

• Collaborate closely with the engineering team.

• Track, reproduce, troubleshoot, and deliver logical solutions to issues.

• Function in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment within a small team.

• Gain familiarity with best practices in application security and SecureFlag's mission to promote engaging learning, leading to improved and more secure code.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of practical experience in developing complex applications using Java.

• Comprehensive understanding of Hibernate with skills in troubleshooting and resolving performance bottlenecks.

• Proficient in understanding and enhancing large, pattern-based, and scalable Java applications utilizing microservices.

• Ability to independently identify code areas needing improvements and implement new functionalities.

• Familiarity with development tools such as Git, Docker, and CI pipelines.

• Knowledge of microservices architecture, specifically with Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS).

• Experience in implementing automated testing is advantageous.

• Proficient English language skills.

• Capable of working independently with minimal daily supervision.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to communicate effectively with colleagues and management.

• Good time management skills, including the ability to prioritize, schedule, and adapt as needed.
