Senior Backend Engineer – Surfaces

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take charge of and enhance the primary experimentation service, crafting agentic workflows that streamline experiment setup, configuration, and validation across various backend systems.

• Create and manage API-first orchestration layers that facilitate coordination between experimentation and content delivery systems.

• Develop and incorporate LLM-driven workflows into robust, production-ready infrastructure, including planner, generator, and validator architectural patterns.

• Establish and maintain SLOs and SLAs for experimentation infrastructure, fostering a strong culture of reliability and operational excellence.

• Collaborate closely with content, feature, and platform teams to expand automated experimentation patterns across an increasing array of surfaces and configurations.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bottlenecks in experiment orchestration to guarantee swift and dependable workflows.

• Work across squads to continuously enhance how experimentation and evaluation are conducted across Spotify Surfaces.

• Participate in architectural decisions that bolster system scalability, observability, and maintainability.

• You are a product-focused engineer who excels at the crossroads of infrastructure, AI, and experimentation.

• You have experience translating conceptual architectures into scalable, production-ready code.

• You are at ease collaborating across multiple teams and engaging with cross-functional partners.

• You prioritize creating maintainable systems that support rapid iteration and experimentation.

• You are driven by the desire to transform fragmented, manual processes into streamlined, automated workflows.

• You have experience defining and working with SLOs, SLAs, and observability tools.

• Familiarity with LLMs, agent frameworks, or A/B testing infrastructure is a plus.
