This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Spearhead the development of significant team-oriented projects and engage in cross-team initiatives for Remote's HR and Payroll offerings.
• Actively contribute to product-related tasks within the team: offer feedback, propose solutions to challenges, and leverage technical knowledge to recommend product enhancements.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the team’s domain, encompassing both product and engineering perspectives.
• Provide constructive feedback during code reviews.
• Contribute to the collaborative codebase.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and business-related issues.
• Engage in activities outside the team, such as support rotations, the hiring process, RFC discussions, etc.
• Mentor and offer guidance to fellow engineers.
• Research, propose, and actively participate in the implementation of enhancements to our platform.
• Develop interfaces with a focus on performance, accessibility, and API design.
• Redesign the process of how engineering work is executed with autonomous agents as the primary execution layer.
• Propose and implement agentic workflows in a comprehensive manner (spec → plan → execute → verify) to accelerate outcome delivery.
• Create reusable agentic workflows and primitives within the codebase, enabling teams to apply them consistently across various domains.
• Utilize verification loops (tests, checks, evaluations, guardrails) to ensure results are accurate, secure, reliable, and scalable.
• Strong engineering principles and a proven history of delivering production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
• Hands-on experience in designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows (or similar systems) and enhancing them through iteration.
• Ability to think systemically: clearly define specifications, break down plans, implement verification instruments, and ensure quality closure.
• Proficiency in Postgres (or a similar database).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar).
• Demonstrates strong automation skills, AI capabilities, and fluency in AI concepts.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Next.js, React/Vue/Angular.
