Senior Backend Engineer

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable and dependable backend systems, overseeing everything from architecture to production deployment.

• Strengthen and enhance the platform to ensure stability, performance, and readiness for releases.

• Lead the development of backend services, APIs, and data models, prioritizing maintainability strategies.

• Have experience in data modeling and working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, which is heavily utilized at Unqork.

• Establish technical standards and promote best practices regarding code quality, architecture, and system design.

• Serve as a proactive technical leader by reviewing code, debugging intricate issues, and enhancing performance as necessary.

• Collaborate effectively with Product, QA, and Design teams to convert business challenges into well-structured technical solutions.

• Possess hands-on experience with the capability to leverage AI for development and analytical tasks.

• Pose pertinent technical questions early to clarify requirements and mitigate downstream risks.

• Assist in defining engineering roadmaps, technical milestones, and delivery metrics.

• Enhance development workflows and processes to boost team velocity and reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in backend engineering, specifically in building production systems.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing complex software systems from start to finish.

• Proficient in Database Modeling, managing complex Database Transactions, and ensuring data integrity across distributed systems.

• Strong background in API design.

• Extensive knowledge in data modeling, normalization, query optimization, and indexing.

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.

• Experience in building REST and/or GraphQL services.

• Strong proficiency in a modern backend programming language, with a preference for Node.js.

• Experience in delivering highly reliable systems within cloud environments.

• Ability to work independently while also contributing to the broader technical direction.

• Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver complex product features.
