Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop backend services that facilitate financial workflows and transaction processing.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to create scalable system solutions.

• Participate in architectural discussions and advance service-oriented architectures.

• Write maintainable and thoroughly tested code utilizing Java and contemporary JVM frameworks.

• Enhance system reliability, performance, and observability.

• Develop and sustain APIs utilized by both internal services and external integrations.

• Refactor and modernize legacy systems as the platform progresses.

• Diagnose production issues and implement sustainable fixes.

• Engage in code reviews and promote high engineering standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a backend engineer in a production setting.

• Extensive experience in building backend services using Java and modern JVM frameworks.

• Proven experience in designing APIs and service-oriented architectures.

• Familiarity with relational databases and handling large datasets.

• Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.

• Knowledge of containerized environments like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience in regulated sectors, such as financial services or cannabis, is a plus.
