Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop correct, efficient, clean, robust, and maintainable code primarily using Java 21+

• Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to prevent existing errors and future regressions

• Engage in code reviews to gain insights from peers and share your knowledge

• Experiment with new technologies and libraries that can enhance efficiency

• Produce clear and concise documentation for the users of your systems

• Recognize common challenges across multiple systems and create shared solutions through libraries

• Design new systems and features of moderate complexity

• Provide time estimates for implementing designs to assist in future project planning

• Contribute to core systems that have a significant business impact

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with microservice architectures, synchronous REST communication over HTTP, and asynchronous communication using Apache Kafka

• Strong understanding of database transactions and locking mechanisms

• Demonstrated ability to utilize modern AI development workflows to enhance delivery speed while maintaining code quality

• Extensive expertise in Java (21+) and the Spring Boot ecosystem

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other relational databases, Apache Kafka, and Docker

• Knowledge of algorithms and data structures for load distribution methods such as sharding, leadership election, and more

• At least 2 years of experience with logging and metrics technologies: Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana

• A minimum of 1 year of experience with the following infrastructure technologies: AWS, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Istio, Terraform, and Terragrunt

• Experience in the Fintech sector or within a fast-paced startup environment
